“With no shooting from the Palestinian side, and often little or no use of tear gas to disperse the protests, Israeli soldiers have repeatedly fired live ammunition into unarmed crowds.” |
Source: The Palestine Red Crescent Society, is our source for the Palestinian injuries. (Visit their statistics page, which was last updated on February 28, 2008.) Our source for the number of Israelis injured is , the Israel’s Foreign Ministry. (Visit their list, which was last updated on May 1, 2006. Their statistic is probably somewhat inflated as it likely includes non-Israelis killed in the conflict.)
The exact number of Palestinians injured during the current uprising is very difficult to ascertain. This is caused in part by the chaos that ensued following the re-invasion of the West Bank during March and April 2002. The estimates range from about the number recorded above to 53,000 (Palestine Monitor). It is believed that up to about 10,000 Palestinian children have been injured during this time period.
